The #62 Lamera triumphs in its TTE debut at Spa

T

For a first, it's hard to dream of anything better. Committed for the very first time in Endurance Tourism Trophy (TTE), Lamera #62 3TM driven by Thomas and Matteo Merafina struck a major blow by winning on the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit after a perfectly controlled four-hour race.

Initially entered in the T2 category—the same category as the TCR and other 308 Cup cars—the Lamera immediately displayed impressive pace. In free practice, the #62 set the fastest time in its category and finished 2nd overall, just a tenth behind the best GT4. This forced the organizers to reclassify the car in the T4 category, alongside the GT4s, before the start of qualifying.

Rain as a field of expression

During qualifying practice, the weather in Spa played havoc again, but Thomas Merafina was able to take advantage of the tricky conditions to secure pole position in the T4 category. This performance was all the more remarkable given that the track alternated between dry and wet, true to the reputation of the Belgian Ardennes.

Played jointly with the championship BGDC, the Spa round brought together no fewer than 52 cars at the start. Starting 7th on the grid, the #62 quickly moved into the front, benefiting from a cannonball start and several daring overtakes. Lap after lap, the Merafina brothers took command of the TTE, leading the T4 category with authority against formidable competitors — GT4, Ligier and other endurance specialists.

The key to success? A clear race, without the slightest mechanical warning, proof of the experience acquired in the Lamera Cup, where reliability and pace management are key. The changing weather conditions dictated several tire changes, but the #62 and its team always made the right choices. The final pit stop, perfectly timed under Full Course Yellow, ensured a decisive lead all the way to the checkered flag.

A historic victory

For its first appearance at the TTE, the #62 3TM Lamera therefore achieved a resounding victory at Spa, after a faultless weekend. A start that made an impression and demonstrated, once again, the potential of the Lamera against more upmarket GTs. It's a huge satisfaction to win this race on our TTE debut. Everything came together perfectly, the car was impeccable, and Spa gave us a real endurance race. ", confided Thomas and Matteo Merafina after the arrival.

A founding victory that could well lead to others.
