Comtoyou Racing leaves Audi for Aston Martin. The announcement was made this Saturday afternoon at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, where the penultimate round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe is being held, which is also the final of theEndurance Cup
Involved in GT since this year, the Comtoyou Racing team is preparing to take on a new challenge from the 2024 season. I would first like to thank Audi Sport Customer Racing for being by our side for our GT3 debut », explains Jean-Michel Baert, the Team Principal of the Belgian structure. “ Even if it is always possible to do better, we made a successful debut in Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe, the level of which no longer needs to be demonstrated. Our class victories – in both Sprint and Endurance – and our overall podiums are proof of this and we hope to finish 2023 strong. However, we no longer saw the possibility of growing in GT with Audi in the future and we are happy to announce a new partnership. »
In 2024, the structure based in Frameries will therefore join forces with Aston Martin to become AMR Comtoyou Racing. “ We are very proud to have signed a four-year partnership with Aston Martin Racing », continues Jean-Michel Baert. “ We were seduced by their enthusiasm, their thirst to win and their vision of the future. Thanks to them, we also had the opportunity to enter GT4, in addition to GT3. It is too early to reveal to you all the details of our program, whether it be the drivers or the championships in which we will be entered, but we are extremely motivated. We have a lot of work ahead of us to prepare for the 2024 season, but I can tell you that we intend to do everything we can to continue our progress. »
Aston Martin Racing is also delighted with this new collaboration. “ Aston Martin Racing is very pleased to partner with Comtoyou Racing said Huw Tasker, Head of Partner Racing AMR. “ Our brand has a great history in motorsport and GT. We were looking for a leading partner, sharing our vision of performance and our professionalism. The Comtoyou Racing team has proven in its first season in GT3 that it is already one of the references with straight away class victories and overall podiums. From the first contacts, we felt the same desire to win that we have. Partnering with them for four years is therefore a source of pride and we look forward to working hand in hand to make Aston Martin win in GT racing in the future. »
To create automatisms between the different parts, tests will be carried out in the coming weeks and the team will reveal in due time its programs and its drivers for the 2024 season. For AMR Comtoyou Racing, the 2024 season is already tomorrow.
