Big event, big presentation. BMW took advantage of the 24 Hours of Nürburgring (June 1-2) to present to the public the first updated version of its M4 GT3, now renamed M4 GT3 EVO and expected in competition from next year, and whose development was led by factory drivers Jens Klingmann, Bruno Spengler and Augusto Farfus.
So what changes between the M4 GT3 introduced in 2022 and the M4 GT3 EVO which will begin its cycle in 2025? From a technical point of view, the German brand did not focus on pure performance but on maneuverability, efficiency and reliability.
On the outside, it welcomes new, smaller aerodynamic mirrors as well as larger air outlets on the front wheel arches. With this EVO, BMW has revised the adjustment possibilities of the rear wing in order to improve aerodynamic efficiency. In addition, the new model is no longer painted in the traditional way but instead covered with a significantly lighter cathodic immersion coating.
On the mechanical side, the propeller manufacturer has installed new anti-roll bars on the front and rear axles, larger rear brake discs and a much thinner and easier to adjust differential which should help reduce wear on the axles. tires and brakes and therefore improve and make driving more consistent.
« The BMW M4 GT3 has achieved more than 70 victories and countless major successes since its launch, remember Andreas Roos, boss of BMW M Motorsport. I particularly remember the titles in DTM in 2022, victory at the 24 Hours of Spa in 2023 and titles won in IMSA. I am convinced that the EVO model of the BMW M4 GT3, as well as that of the BMW M4 GT4 (also expected in 2025), will help to play at the forefront in GT in the years to come and celebrate many other great victories. I thank everyone who participated in the development of these cars"
