The first winner of the SRO GT Academy now knows his next destination. Gaspard Simon, runner-up in the French GT4 Championship last year and the best driver under 30 at the end of the 2025 GT4 France season, will have the opportunity to compete five times in 2026 at the wheel of a Aston Martin A Vantage prepared by the German team Walkenhorst Motorsport. At just 19 years old, the young driver from the Hérault region won a €150,000 prize offered by SRO, allowing him to move up to the next level of Grand Touring, namely GT3. Initially entered with Schumacher CLRT in GT4 France in 2024, Simon then joined the ranks of Code Racing Development last year and shared the driving duties of theAlpine A110 GT4 with Pascal Huteau. At the wheel, the two men were still in contention for the title at the start of the last race of the season held last October at the Circuit Paul Ricard.

A busy schedule for Gaspard Simon

Brands Hatch, Misano, Magny-Cours, Zandvoort, Barcelona: these are the five tracks where Gaspard Simon will compete in the GT World Challenge this season. The young driver will be entered in the Silver Cup, a series that allows young professional and semi-professional drivers to showcase their talent, but the identity of his co-driver is not yet known. In addition to financial support from SRO, Gaspard Simon will also receive coaching from the SRO GT Academy and the FFSA Academy for the 2026 season. "I'm eager and extremely motivated to take advantage of this unique opportunity," he says. "Gaspard impressed us with his natural top speed, and I'm sure he'll also be able to demonstrate his talents in the GT World Sprint Cup," adds Jörg Breuer, head of Walkenhorst Motorsport. He's definitely one to watch in 2026 and beyond.
