At just 31 years old, Vincent Abril has chosen to close the chapter on his professional career. It all began in 2011 for the Franco-Monegasque driver in the SEAT León Supercopa France. He quickly moved to GT3, which he discovered in 2013 in the French Championship with Speedcar before going international in 2014 with Team WRT in the Blancpain Sprint Series. He then wrote a new chapter in his story with Bentley, notably during his participation in the 2017 Bathurst 12 Hour, where he shared the wheel of the Continental GT3 with Andy Soucek and Maxime Soulet.

In 2021, Vincent Abril takes up the challenge of DTM with the Mercedes Benz-AMG Team HRT. He made a strong impression from the start by securing a pole position in his very first race at the temple of speed, the Autodromo Nazionale Monza.
His career then led him to the Asian Le Mans Series and the GT World Challenge Endurance Cup in 2022. It was in that same year that he achieved one of his most brilliant performances: the Hyperpole in GTE Am during the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans.
With the support of AF Corse, Abril shone. Third in the GT Open in 2024, he also distinguished himself by reaching the podium at the 24 Hours of Spa alongside Alessandro Pier Guidi and Alessio Rovera the following year.
However, the driver has decided to end his career. I have decided to retire from professional motorsport. The past few years have opened up parallel opportunities that have allowed me to grow and clarify my future life goals. I feel relieved and very excited about my new projects. Racing has been my whole life; I've had one of the best jobs there is for 12 years. I am eternally grateful to everyone I've met along the way: the good and the bad, competitors and fans alike. »
Vincent Abril leaves the stage without regret. When I look back, I'm proud of my victories, my titles, and my pole positions. I've always been genuine; I can look everyone I've worked with straight in the eye and shake their hands. »
Even if official commitments cease, the Monegasque driver should not permanently leave the circuits, since he is already considering competing in some Pro-Am events.
