  • The end of the Sprint Cup in GT World Challenge Europe! The last round of the year took place this Sunday in Barcelona under a bright sun, and it was Sven Müller and Patric Niederhauser who won Race 2 on the Porsche No. 96 of the Rutronik Racing team.

  • Starting from pole position, the first for Porsche in the Sprint Cup, the German-Swiss duo dominated the proceedings, leading a relatively calm race (no Safety Car, unlike the 55 minutes of intervention during Race 1) throughout and only relinquishing the lead during their pit stop. It is a first victory for Porsche and for the crew of the n°96 this season. The podium is completed by theAston Martin n°7 of Comtoyou Racing and by the McLaren No. 159 of the Garage 59 team, who fought for their positions until the last moments.
  • The last race of the season also means the Sprint Cup titles are awarded… and the new Sprint Cup champions are Lucas Auer and Maro Engel! Thanks to their podium in Race 1 on Saturday and their 4th place in Race 2, the duo in the #48 Winward Racing Mercedes clinched the overall title, taking advantage of the problems encountered by Charles Weerts and Dries Vanthoor throughout the weekend in Barcelona on the #32 BMW Team WRT. Lucas Auer and Maro Engel win their first GTWC Europe title.
  • Other titles were won this Sunday in the other categories: in the Gold Cup, Max Hofer and Lucas Engstler secured their crown with 2nd place in their class in Race 2 on the Audi n°6 of Team Engstler by OneGroup, taking advantage of the puncture of their main rival, Simon Gachet, on the first lap of the race on the Audi n°111 of CSA Racing. Calan Williams won the Silver Cup trophy while in the Bronze Cup, it was the duo Darren Leung – Daniel Harper who took the title in the BMW n°991 of the Paradine Competition team.
  • If the Sprint Cup came to an end this Sunday, there is still one round to go in GT World Challenge Europe, in Endurance Cup more precisely, with a final meeting on the Corniche circuit in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (November 28-30).
