Team WRT is truly the leading team in GT World Challenge Europe. In the Sprint Cup, the Belgian team put in a remarkable performance in the final held in Valencia, Spain, on Sunday, September 21. The BMW M4 GT3 driven by Charles Weerts and Kelvin van der Linde emerged victorious from a frantic race between the various title contenders.
Starting 5th, the Belgian BMW first had to get rid of the Frenchman Aurélien Panis (Mercedes), before tackling the two direct rivals for the title. First, Marvin Kirchhöfer (McLaren) admitted defeat, before Jordan Pepper (Lamborghini) did the same.
Van der Linde passes Kirchhöfer for P2, but he has to pass the Lamborghini to take the title.

But the Lamborghini, which had passed German Luca Engstler after a series of pit stops, regained momentum during the second stint. The finish was full of suspense between the two competitors, but Charles Weerts, in the BMW, held on by less than a second!
Charles Weerts becomes the first driver to win the Sprint Cup four times. For Kelvin van der Linde, this is his first title in the championship.
