The second race of the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup weekend at the Magny-Cours circuit (Nièvre) provided a great spectacle, just like the night race on Saturday. This Sunday, August 3, victory was fought out between two crews: Marvin Kirchhöfer-Benjamin Goethe (McLaren) and Jordan Pepper-Luca Engstler (Lamborghini).
Starting from pole position, as it did at the Spa 24 Hours at the end of June, the Garage 720 team's McLaren 3S GT59 looked set to win... until the Grasser Racing Team's Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo2 came back during the second stint.
For a good twenty minutes, Luca Engstler tried to find a way through, but in vain. The finish was close, and the McLaren maintained a lead of 156 thousandths of a second!
JUST 0.156s AT THE LINE 🤏🏁
Goethe withstands the pressure from Engstler, but that got seriously close between the McLaren and Lamborghini. What has finished!

Third place is occupied by Charles Weerts and Kelvin van der Linde (BMW) who remain at the top of the championship thanks to their two podium finishes in France.
