Origin Motorsport, customer team Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific has confirmed its commitment to the Suzuka 1000km with a select line-up of drivers: Bastian Buus, Laurin Heinrich, and Alessio Picariello. The Japanese event marks the team's debut at the iconic track, which is hosting endurance racing for the first time since 2019.
Laurin Heinrich, GTD Pro champion IMSA 2024, returns to the team after a 2024 season in Asian Le Mans A series punctuated by podium finishes and an excellent year in GT World Challenge Asia. Already the leader of the 2025 Thailand Super Series with three wins and two podiums, the German driver is confident for this new Asian episode.
Bastian Buus, the 1 Porsche Mobil 2023 Supercup winner, has excelled in the Asian Le Mans Series and various GT World Challenge events in Europe and Asia. His overall podium finish at the Nürburgring 24 Hours remains the highlight of his 2025 season. As for Alessio Picariello, a former Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific driver, the Belgian returns to Asian circuits after his second place at the Spa 24 Hours and a shared victory with Lu Wei at Mandalika in GT World Challenge Asia.
For the occasion, the #6 Origine Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 R will sport a livery inspired by that of the 1981 winners, Henri Pescarolo and Bob Wollek, the first foreign duo to triumph on the Japanese circuit.
Since its creation in 2021, Origine Motorsport has established itself as a major player in the Asian GT scene, with a Porsche Carrera Cup Asia title, two consecutive GT World Challenge Asia Teams crowns and endurance victories in Sepang, Shanghai and Macau.
The Suzuka 1000km, scheduled for September 12-14, will bring together 11 Porsches on the grid, ready to enrich the brand's record-breaking list.
Bastian Buus sums up the spirit of the trio: “ A strong team, a superb livery, and we're ready for the challenge. Working with Alessio and Laurin will be a real pleasure. » Laurin Heinrich adds: "Suzuka is a circuit that suits us, and we are aiming for an excellent result." Alessio Picariello concludes: " A legendary event with top teammates and the historic livery, it's a real privilege. »
