The Star brand intends to shine in GT3 in 2024. Mercedes presented this Thursday, February 1, its 19 official drivers who will represent the German manufacturer in Grand Touring competitions this season.
Compared to the previous year, only one new driver was signed. This is the winner of the AMG Young Driver Test detection operation, Frank Bird. The 24-year-old British driver notably distinguished himself in the International GT Open in 2023 (6th) and before that, in the GT World Challenge Sprint Cup Silver category with Audi (vice-champion in 2021).

Christoph Sagemüller, director of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport: “Once again, a demanding year awaits us. Building on the extremely successful season we had last year will be a challenge. This is why we have put together a group of drivers that is not only solid, but above all as balanced as possible. Furthermore, supporting young drivers is very important to us as a manufacturer, which is why we promote young drivers. The promising driver combination allows me to approach the sporting season with a positive feeling. »
Stefan Wendl, head of Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing: “I am excited to once again field a competitive driver field in 2024. Building on recently accumulated experience, we have a balanced mix of champions and endurance race winners, as well as talented young drivers who want to win.
