The Mustang will definitely be a very fashionable model in 2024. Present in GT3, GT4, Supercars and still in NASCAR, the “Pony Car” will not be discreet next year! Ford Performance has just presented, this Wednesday, the new version of the Mustang which will be entered next season in the NASCAR Cup Series.
Based on the Mustang Dark Horse, this evolution of the American model in NASCAR is a continuation of Ford's project: to race the Mustang on all continents (or almost) of the world. The changes compared to the old version are only aesthetic, to match the design of the Dark Horse. We will obviously find the 8 L V5,8 engine which has equipped the “Next Gen” cars since 2022.
“What a crazy year for us: we revealed all of our new global Mustangs for racing. The positive response from our fans around the world has been overwhelming, and we are confident that this Dark Horse Mustang will be no exception and that NASCAR fans will be excited to cheer us on next year, said Mark Rushbrook, global director of Ford Performance Motorsports. Our Ford Performance team, in conjunction with our NASCAR racing teams, worked tirelessly in the wind tunnel to develop this car, and I can't wait to finally see it hit the track next season. »
Drivers, too, are excited to drive the 2024 version of the Ford Mustang. “If she gallops as fast as she looks, it will be a good year”, said Brad Keselowski, driver and co-owner of Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing. “I'm really excited because Ford did an incredible job with it, said Ryan Blaney of Team Penske. I can't wait for it to debut and drive it next year at the Coliseum and hopefully I'll be the one to get the first win. That would be a great accomplishment. »
The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Dark Horse Mustang will make its on-track debut on February 4, 2024, as part of the Clash at the Coliseum exhibition race inside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
