Certainly, the NASCAR really wants to return to its roots in this 2026 season! After abandoning the play-off system, in favor of the "Chase" seen between 2004 and 2013, and the return of the fall round in Charlotte to the oval rather than the road course of the Charlotte Motor Speedway, the American discipline has decided to launch a new advertising campaign, aimed more at "rednecks" than at upscale executives, and based on the phrase "Hell Yeah" (Damn yeah, if we wanted to translate into our beautiful language of Molière).

As part of this campaign, NASCAR took over Times Square, a few days after the unveiling of the Cadillac livery of F1which also took place in the heart of New York City. On this occasion, the American stock car championship broke a Guinness World Record for the loudest billboard in the world. We were therefore delighted to learn that a category dedicated to this existed in the record books, and NASCAR didn't take many risks to break it, simply installing a replica of one of the V8 engines used in the seventh-generation cars since 2022. All it took was starting the engine to consign the previous record to oblivion.

After seemingly losing its identity in recent years, America's favorite motorsport is trying to return to its roots, emphasizing the almost raw nature of these races with their big V8 engines and countless hours spent in packs on the various ovals on the calendar. It remains to be seen whether this attempt will win back fans who may have grown weary in recent years, particularly of the playoff system. If not, they can always display the world record certificate in the offices in Charlotte, North Carolina…
