Organizing a car race in early February in North Carolina could involve certain risks! NASCAR It was learned this Saturday that the Clash, organized for the second consecutive time at the Bowman Gray Stadium circuit in Winston-Salem, has been postponed to Monday, having originally been scheduled for Sunday. The free practice sessions, planned for Saturday, had already been postponed to Sunday.
The reason is the heavy snowfall in Winston-Salem over the past few days. With high temperatures not even reaching above freezing this weekend, NASCAR has decided to postpone all on-track activities until Monday, giving officials time to prepare the circuit for the non-championship race that will kick off the 2026 season.
Practice and qualifying will take place on Monday at 5:00 PM French time, before the last-chance race, allowing some drivers to qualify for the final at 10:30 PM. The Clash itself will begin around midnight, in the early hours of Sunday morning. Sunshine is expected on Monday, with a high of 3 degrees Celsius, which should help melt the heavy snowfall on Friday and Saturday. Chase Elliott (Hendrick Motorsports) is the defending Clash champion, having won last year for NASCAR's return to the track nicknamed "the madhouse."
