For his first season at this Pro level, Paul Jouffreau can be proud: not only was he the best rookie but he also finished just 8 points behind the champion.

A bit of sunshine, a dry track… The 24 competitors entered in the last round of EuroNASCAR Pro, this Sunday afternoon at Zolder, were delighted. Especially since the starting grid, in line with the best times set the day before in the first race, augured a duel between Ghirelli and Jouffreau, two of the protagonists of this championship. And if it was the Frenchman Paul Jouffreau who triumphed, it was nevertheless the Italian Ghirelli who was crowned by finishing the event in 1th position.

"For two laps, I wore the EuroNASCAR Pro champion crown," smiled the young Bordeaux player, who was competing for the first year in the EuroNASCAR Pros. "Then Vittorio came back in 10th position. He finished 8 points ahead of me. For my first full season at this level, I think I have something to be proud of."

He can. Especially since in this last round, there were a thousand reasons to crack. Which Paul Jouffreau never did despite a difficult start to the race to say the least. Thus, after a first duel with Jouffreau from the first left of the Limburg circuit, Ghirelli found himself in the gravel trap. And if the Italian managed to get out of this trap, this was not the case for the Tricolore Lucas Lasserre forced to abandon. A fight later, Jouffreau found himself again confronted with tough opponents. Which did not scare him until the finish, which he crossed as the winner. As for Ghirelli, he crossed the line in 10th place, a sufficient performance that allowed him to take the crown.
