  • The reigning champion is back! This time, there was no photo finish like in Atlanta last February, no fuel shortage like at Gateway at the beginning of June. This time, Ryan Blaney (Penske) held on!
  • In a race where there was no shortage of neutralizations and during which his main rival, Kyle Larson (Hendrick Motorsports) was sent into the background by Daniel Suárez (Trackhouse Racing), everything came down to one decision. And the 2024 champion can thank Jonathan Hassler, the leader of his team.
  • During the last neutralization, the latter went all-in and decided to only change two tires on the No. 12 Ford Mustang. An operation which allowed Ryan Blaney to take control for the last 88 laps and never let go again.
  • William Byron (Hendrick Motorsports) tried to take over from his unfortunate teammate Kyle Larson, but the kid from Hartford Township was determined not to let it happen. This time, he held on and no external element came to thwart his plans to sign his first victory since October 29 at Martinsville, becoming in the process the first driver to win in all three national categories in Iowa (Truck Series in 2012 and Xfinity Series in 2015).
  • « What a great way to win, smiled-he. This place means a lot to me and my mother (originally from Iowa). Many people came to encourage us (...) The car was very fast and we managed to improve throughout. Changing only two tires was the right decision. I didn't know if I was going to make it. I started to suffer a little at the end, but I managed to hang on."
