Max Verstappen And at the Nürburgring, the story could only be beginning. Winner of an NLS round in 2025, near-winner of NLS2 a few weeks ago (his crew crossed the finish line first before being disqualified), the four-time world champion of F1 He is doing everything he can to increase his appearances in his new car. While his participation has already been confirmed for the 24 Hours of Nürburgring alongside Lucas Auer, Jules Gounon, and Daniel Juncadella, the driver Red Bull will be present on the legendary German track before the race in question.
Indeed, Verstappen is taking advantage of the absence of Formula 1 on the calendar in April (the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix having been cancelled by the organizers) to further increase his presence on the sidelines of the event. This Thursday, April 2nd, Max Verstappen confirmed his participation in the Nürburgring 24 Hours preparatory races, taking place on April 18th and 19th. A month before tackling the twice-around-the-clock race, the Dutchman will thus be lined up alongside Lucas Auer at the wheel of the Mercedes Benz-AMG GT3 Evo sporting Red Bull colors, given the absence of Jules Gounon and Daniel Juncadella, who were unavailable due to the opening round of the WEC in Imola.
From May 14th to 17th, the race will take place: the first 24 Hours of Nürburgring for Max Verstappen and his team, bearing the same name. A true challenge for the driver coming off the Miami Grand Prix, this race naturally presents an opportunity for him to lay the groundwork for a possible future in motorsport. Having always crossed the finish line first in the races he has entered in this category (despite his recent disqualification), he demonstrates a genuine motivation in terms of his involvement in the discipline. Never one to shy away from new experiences, Max Verstappen notably skipped the Pirelli tests this week at Suzuka. Instead, he indulged in another GT outing, once again on the Nordschleife.

Given his statements about his lack of interest in F1 2026, this is at the very least a venting session (and it means that for him F1 has become a chore), or a sign that he is going to leave F1.

Damn, Max, he's incredible. But to stay motivated, that's exactly what you need to do. 👍 Can't wait to see him at the 24 Hours of Le Mans!!!! 😎😉. Alain Féguenne, F1 Competitions - 24 Hours of Le Mans - WEC
