- Have Sho Tsuboi and Kenta Yamashita killed all suspense in Super GT? The Japanese duo took their second victory of the season on Sunday, after 300 kilometres of effort on the Motegi track. The crew of the Toyota TOM'S n°36, who started third, quickly took control of the race from the 10th lap before taking off in front, ahead of the Honda ARTA n°8 and the Toyota KeePer CERUMO n°38.
- The #64 Nakajima Racing Honda was unable to maintain its pole position advantage and lost its lead on the restart after the race's first Virtual Safety Car on lap 8 to the #8 ARTA Honda. Unfortunately, the Honda Civics were unable to keep up with the #36 Toyota Supra's blistering pace and had to settle for the top spots.
- The big losers of this race in Motegi were the Franco-Japanese duo Giuliano Alesi – Ukyo Sasahara. The Toyota TOM'S n°37 had to retire due to a mechanical problem halfway through the race, destroying their title hopes…
- With this second win this season, Sho Tsuboi and Kenta Yamashita are very close to being crowned 2024 Super GT champions. The Japanese duo are 18 points ahead of their closest rivals, namely Naoki Yamamoto and Tadasuke Makino in the No. 100 Kunimitsu Honda. The No. 36 TOM'S Toyota crew could even be crowned champions in qualifying at Suzuka (December 7-8), if they take pole position or 2nd place and if Naoki Yamamoto and Tadasuke Makino do not finish in the Top 3.
