Oliver Rasmussen: "It's not an easy year"

What is your assessment of your season so far, in Super GT and Super Formula?

It's not been an easy year. I broke a vertebra at Suzuka, in the first race, during testing. The car didn't suffer too much, but I did: five screws, two rods in my back, and two more bruises. I missed two Super Formula weekends.

There's no real testing during the season, and it's not easy to get the car back into the race straight away. It's still an incredible opportunity to be able to drive in Super Formula, the second-fastest car in the world, and in Super GT, a super-competitive championship.

Are you thinking about a return to Endurance with this visit to the paddock of the WEC this weekend in Fuji?

I'm focusing on my career in Japan. I had the opportunity to come, so I took advantage of it. Afterwards, if there's a chance in the WEC one day, it would be logical, because people know me, but that's not the main focus today.

You are in the fold Toyota now. The new Lexus/Toyota GT3 is coming next year. Would that interest you?

Absolutely. I'm open to any opportunity. But for that, you also have to prove yourself on the track and get results to deserve a spot. There are a lot of very good drivers, so you have to know how to stand out. That's part of the job.

What can we wish you for the end of the season?

To put it all together. We haven't had any luck so far, but we've made good progress with the teams. We've built up some good momentum in recent races. The goal is to keep this momentum going and manage to put everything together to finally get a good result.
