In the heart of summer, Super GT is contesting a double header featuring two sprint races on the Fuji circuit. This Saturday, August 2, the first round was dominated by Japanese driver Sho Tsuboi.

The two-time reigning Super GT and Super Formula champion took the lead in the event at the wheel of his Toyota GR Supra GT500 following a race restart. Starting from second place, the Tom's team driver takes his second victory of 2025.

Toyota dominated the competition with a resounding five-peat. Toshiki Oyu and Ukyo Sasahara (Giuliano Alesi's teammate) completed the podium, while Franco-Argentinian Sacha Fenestraz finished 4th, ahead of Belgian Bertrand Baguette.

Sunday's race will logically pit the drivers who did not take the wheel this Saturday against each other, still on the Fuji Speedway circuit, which hosted the Formula 1 for the last time in 2008.
