  • La Toyota TOM'S #37 continues in Super GT! Giuliano Alesi and Ukyo Sasahara, already winners at Suzuka last June, repeated the feat this Sunday by winning on the spectacular SUGO circuit.
  • Starting from 14th on the grid – a position determined by the Free Practice standings, since qualifying was cancelled due to the weather – the Franco-Japanese duo managed to move up the grid thanks in particular to a fantastic first stint by Ukyo Sasahara in wet conditions. Leader when he climbed into the Supra mid-race, Giuliano Alesi remained in the lead until the finish.
  • The podium is completed by another Toyota, the #38 of the CERUMO team driven by Hiroaki Ishiura and Toshiki Oyu, and the #12 Nissan of Team Impul driven by Bertrand Baguette and Kazuki Hiramine. In the championship, the Alesi – Sasahara duo (48 points) is one point behind the sister car at TOM'S, the #36 of Sho Tsuboi and Kenta Yamashita (49 points).
  • Lilou Wadoux made Super GT history at SUGO: after leading the race until 12 laps from the finish, the Frenchwoman finally finished 2nd in the GT300 category on the Ferrari Ponos Racing #45, with Kei Cozzolino. The Amiens native becomes only the second woman to take a podium in the Japanese touring car championship (JGTC and Super GT combined) after June Okanoya in 1995 (also 2nd). The GT300 class was won by championship leaders Naoya Gamou and Takuro Shinohara on the Mercedes LEON Racing n°65.
