- At the start, four crews could still think of the title. The No. 36 Team TOM'S Toyota (69 points) and the No. 3 NDDP Racing Nissan (63 points) were best placed in the championship.
- With pole position secured in qualifying, the Nissan of Katsumasa Chiyo and Mitsunori Takaboshi had the advantage of track position, but their hopes were dashed four laps from the finish when Takaboshi, victim of the finish of rain, made a crucial mistake at turn 8, ending up stranded in the gravel.
- It was enough for the Tsuboi – Miyata duo to regain first place and secure their title (the first for Miyata, the second for Tsuboi). The two Japanese calmly reached the finish line ahead of Tsugio Matsuda and Ronnie Quintarelli, who saved the honor for Nissan with second place aboard the #23 NISMO.
- The podium is completed by the No. 17 Real Racing Honda of Koudai Tsukakoshi and Nobuharu Matsushita who, with a switch to wet tires at the end of the race, were able to move up to third place.
