Two weeks after obtaining his license to drive GT3 racing on the Nordschleife, Max Verstappen wasted no time in participating this Saturday in a round of the Nürburgring Langstrecke-Serie, between the Grand Prix of Azerbaijan and Singapore, at the wheel of a Ferrari 293 GT3 from Emil Frey Racing.
Starting from third position on the grid, the Dutchman wasted no time and immediately took the lead of the race, taking the lead even before the first hairpin. The driver Red Bull then rolled out his first two hours of racing in GT3 on the legendary Nordschleife, counting up to a minute of advantage as he handed the wheel over to Chris Lulham. Verstappen notably increased his lead over Frank Stippler, winner in 2012 of the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, and Spa…
The young British driver, Lulham, who competes in the GT World Challenge for Verstappen.com Racing, confirmed the good performance of his Ferrari, which he drove to victory, 24 seconds ahead of his closest rival and more than a minute behind the crew in third place. For both men, it was a first victory in the NLS, and Max Verstappen can now boast a 100% victory ratio on the Nordschleife at the wheel of a GT3 car...
“It was great!”, reacted Verstappen. “In my first two stints, the car was incredible. After qualifying, I knew it would perform well on a dry track. Everything went well in terms of traffic and we didn't make any major mistakes. It's incredible to win my first race here.”
The Dutchman also hinted at his future plans at the Nürburgring. "Of course, we really want to compete in the 24-hour race here on the Nordschleife. I don't know yet if it will be next year. We obviously need more experience, so hopefully we can compete in a few more NLS races next year."

AMAZING, he comes and he wins!!! It's hard to do better. I didn't think much of him because of his sometimes very borderline or even very bad behavior, but now I'm going to have to revise my opinion of him.

And I'm not even surprised! Whatever his ride, this guy has exceptional driving skills (not to mention his excellent teammate). The nod to Ferrari is amusing, the Scuderia boss should congratulate him!

Not really a surprise from the Dutch four-time F1 World Champion driving a top-of-the-class GT3!
