The second Le Mans race of the Porsche Carrera Cup Brasil offered an exciting race and a thrilling finale.

The second and final round of the Porsche The Carrera Cup Brasil at Le Mans offered a most unusual scenario. An intervention on the safety barriers at the Porsche Curves forced race control to neutralize the entire first sector as a Slow Zone during the race. This disrupted the drivers' rhythm and reduced their opportunities for attack in this section of the circuit.

Despite the unusual circumstances, the race was still a spectacle. At the end of the nine laps, Pietro Fantin emerged victorious ahead of Antonella Bassani and Miguel Paludo, the top three finishing within three seconds of each other.

Behind them, Pipo Massa had long dreamed of a triumph. Already a winner in the Rookie category, the young Brazilian pushed hard on the final lap to try and snatch third place overall from Paludo. His desperate attack ultimately fell short by mere hundredths of a second, but his fourth-place finish once again confirms his immense potential.

Fifth, Marcos Regadas limited the damage ahead of Pedro Boesel, Raul's nephew, while the winner of the first heat, Jeff Giassi, could do no better than seventh after a more complicated race.

Another disappointment, however, for Michael Fassbender. The Irish actor, a prestigious guest at this year's Le Mans, was relegated to the back of the pack following an early mistake. Unlike the first race, the Porsche driver managed to stay with the group and battle throughout the nine laps to climb back up the order. His efforts were rewarded with a respectable 17th place finish, right in touch with the championship regulars.

In Sport, Lineu Pires once again took the lead ahead of Francisco Horta and Israel Salmen. A perfect way to conclude a historic weekend for the Porsche Carrera Cup Brasil, the first South American series to be included in the official program of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
