In the first race of the weekend, Feeney demonstrated his mastery by overtaking Thomas Randle (Ford Mustang-Tickford Racing) on lap 11, taking advantage of a quick pit stop to secure victory. This performance allowed him to close the gap in the championship to his teammate Will Brown (Chevrolet Camaro-Triple Eight Engineering). The second race saw Feeney make his 100th Supercars appearance. He celebrated with a convincing victory, taking the championship lead for the first time in 2025. His four-tire pit strategy and strong pace put him ahead of his rivals, while Brown finished 11th. The final race of the weekend saw an intense battle between Feeney and Matt Payne (Ford Mustang-Penrite Racing). Despite an impressive pace and several lap records, Feeney finished second, narrowly beaten by Payne in one of the closest finishes in championship history.
This weekend in Tasmania could well represent a turning point in Chaz Mostert's (Ford Mustang-Walkinshaw Andretti United) 2025 season. While his talent is no longer in doubt, this poor performance underscores how crucial consistency and technical development will be to staying in the title race. With Perth in their sights, WAU has no room for error.
With two wins and a second-place finish, Feeney has accumulated valuable points, taking the championship lead with a 67-point lead over Will Brown and a 75-point lead over Matt Payne. Mostert has dropped to 5th place overall, more than 200 points behind Feeney. This weekend in Tasmania has solidified his position as a serious title contender. The next round at the Perth 440 will be crucial to maintaining this momentum and continuing his quest for the championship. The date is set for June 6-7 and 8.

Symmons Plains Raceway, a small circuit of only 2,411 km in Tasmania with often a lot of action and crashes under braking at the hairpin after the pits! Looking forward to Barbagallo in Perth, another fast track of the same length but hillier on which Mark Webber raced in Red Bull in 2010
