The Brodie Kostecki/Erebus Motorsport saga has just reached its epilogue with the announced departure of the star driver from the Melbourne team. As a reminder, Kostecki and Erebus went through a difficult period between the off-season and the start of 2024. The winner of the previous year was out of the first rounds following a major disagreement with his employers. If everything seems to be back to normal, a spring has broken between Kostecki and the team of Betty Klimenko and Barry Ryan. Kostecki's departure seemed inevitable, but an opportunity had to present itself. The fuse was lit a few days ago with the announcement of the departure of Anton Pasquale (with DJR since 2021) to Team 18 (in place of Mark Winterbottom fired from his team!) where he will be partnered with David Reynolds.

Brodie Kostecki will discover a new team in the Australian Supercars Championship. He arrives in a team that needs to relaunch itself in order to return to its glory years (3 titles won with Scott McLaughlin in 2018, 2019 and 2020). The arrival of Kostecki could be a boost of motivation for Will Davison who has been looking for results for a few seasons. Kostecki will, once again, be able to concentrate on his activity as a professional driver. It was discussions with the legend Scott McLaughlin that helped Kostecki make his decision. The work promises to be important for the 2023 champion who will discover the Ford Mustang in competition. The American manufacturer's coupe, which will be much more competitive in 2024, also seems to have attracted Kostecki. There is no doubt that the latter's arrival should improve the performance of the Mustang with its iconic Shell livery. The man is delighted and the driver very excited: " I am delighted to be joining the Shell V-Power Racing Team, a team with a rich history of success. This partnership represents a new chapter for me, and I look forward to working alongside Will and the entire team. »
