Mostert doubles the lead in Sydney

There is no longer room for doubt in Australian Supercars, but the promoters have succeeded in their mission to rebalance the forces of the field. The Chevrolet Camaros no longer crush the competition as outrageously as was the case in 2023. Thanks to an intense development and upgrade campaign, the Ford Mustang has now become an efficient car that allows teams and their drivers to compete. fight for victory on equal terms. Chaz Mostert this weekend was the perfect illustration of this. The Melbourne native had to battle during the first laps of race 2 with Will Davison (Dick Johnson Racing). Pit stops do not change the nature of the race. Mostert remains in the lead throughout the round.

He won the race ahead of Cameron Waters (Tickford racing) once again on the podium. The driver of the No. 6 Mustang showed great consistency which now propels him to fourth place in the championship. When he was unable to win, championship leader Will Brown (Triple Eight Engineering) managed to put his Camaro on the podium. The loser of the Sydney weekend night is none other than Broc Feeney. The young Triple Eight driver loses his second place overall to Chaz Mostert who signs the first double of his career at 39 years old!

Will Brown will have to be careful at the next meeting at Symmons Plains in Tasmania from August 17 to 18, Mostert is only 105 points behind Shane Van Gisbergen's successor within the benchmark Australian Supercars team.
