It's a 100% WAU front row which sets off on the Perth circuit. Mostert started his weekend in the best possible way by taking pole ahead of his young teammate Ryan Woods. The two men are ahead of Cameron Waters (Tickford racing) and the solid championship leader, Will Brown, in the first Camaro of Triple Eight Engineering. The departure takes place in the calmest manner in the world. A bit of mayhem at the end of the peloton sends Brodie Kostecki (Erebus Motorsport) off the track. The 2023 champion continues to suffer for his return to competition. The Camaro flanked by number 1 crossed the finish line in 22nd and penultimate position. Kostecki will have to work hard if he wants to get back into the rhythm.
Mostert takes the lead before the pit stops
Whereas we thought it would be a race that would be decided thanks to the intervention of the mechanics. The idea being to allow their driver to do the “undercut”, Chaz Mostert placed an attack on his teammate who had then been in the lead for the first 14 laps of the race. Wood then finds himself under threat from Will Brown himself followed closely by Cam Waters. Mostert sees the work of his team rewarded. The race winner was very satisfied at the finish: “the tests we did before coming here paid off, the car was just fantastic throughout the race.". When he takes the lead, Mostert will dominate the end of the race with authority, having a lead of up to six seconds over his pursuers. Will Brown came out 2nd after the pit stops, he managed to get rid of Wood. The Triple Eight driver continues his good streak with an 8th podium in 9 races contested.

The end of the race will be animated by the battle between Waters and Wood for the last place on the podium. It was only in the final turns that the Tickford Racing driver took the advantage. The podium is made up of Mostert, Brown and Waters. The renewed form of the Ford teams continues to be confirmed. This will have to be demonstrated during the last two races scheduled for next night.
