"For the first part of the session, the track wasn't yet performing very well, he explains to us. The first set of tires was mainly to secure one lap. No track limits, no mistakes. We knew it would be on the second set that we'd set the time for pole position. The car was truly excellent. I was able to complete two good laps, without any errors. I especially timed them well because afterwards, a red flag was waved. During the last four laps, the lap times stopped improving.
Clearly happy behind the wheel of his Porsche Cup, Paul Cauhaupé can hope for an excellent scenario in Race 1 from 15:30 pm (French time) this Saturday afternoon, unless rain interferes. "Since Thursday, we've had a really good car. Very high-performing," the man from Toulouse rejoices. "We really mustn't over-drive, but we still need to push performance to the maximum. In any case, this approach paid off in qualifying; the car was truly excellent once again."
