It is obvious that starting from pole position is an advantage which the Alsatian seized yesterday by setting the reference time on the urban route of the Moroccan capital. On the front line, he is joined by his South American teammate Santi Urrutia, the two men are ahead of Norbert Michelisz and Nestor Girolami (Hyundai Motorsport-Hyundai Elantra). At the start of the first round, the positions did not change and Yann Ehrlacher tried to maintain the lead of the race knowing that overtaking would be complicated on a circuit where the walls are always very close.
The race will not see any change of positions apart from the overtaking of Mikel Azcona (Hyundai Motorsport- Hyundai Elantra) on John Filippi (Volcano Motorsport- Audi RS3 LMS) a few laps from the end of the race. Esteban Guerrieri (Goat Racing) was heckled a bit by Thed Björk (Cyan Racing Lynk & Co).
