French rally driver François Chatriot had a long-standing rivalry with Didier Auriol. Nicknamed "the Cat" by those who have followed him faithfully for years, he almost snatched the French championship title from him in 1986. A season at the end of which he ultimately finished as runner-up, at the cost of a duel that has remained in the memories.
