Hervé "Knapick" Lemonnier: "I have always prioritized work over passion."

Sixty years after his first participation in the Côte Fleurie Rally (February 27-28), the native of Lisieux had the opportunity to celebrate this special anniversary by taking part in the 2026 edition. For the occasion, the organizers had reserved the number 1 for him on the doors of his Citroën C3 Rally2.

Hello Hervé, you are celebrating sixty years in your career this year and, on this Rally From the Côte Fleurie, the sixtieth anniversary of your first participation in the event in 1966: we'll come back to that shortly. An opportunity to remember where it all began!

And it all started through my dad (Gilbert(Editor's note), who was a very, very big motorsport enthusiast. After a few years of playing table tennis competitively, at 17, I had the opportunity to participate in my first slaloms, but very quickly, I absolutely wanted to realize my dream: to become the owner of an R8 Gordini! I got it in 1968, it was white and not blue as was often the case at the time.
