What a great idea to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the victory of this Lancia 037 in Corsica, during your historic Tour de Corse!
It's a beautiful car, isn't it? It was in 1984 that it won for the last time in Corsica (with Markku Alén). It was quite logical. In addition to being magnificent, the drivers said they could do whatever they wanted with it.
When was your earliest memory of a car?
I would say at the sight of the cars of the Tour de Corse 1965 or 66. I was 8 or 9 years old and with my father and my brother, we went to see them pass at night in the center of Porto-Vecchio. It had marked me.
Were any members of your family passionate about automobiles?
No. At home, it was more about horse riding. My dad used to say: " You master the horse. In mechanics, a bolt breaks and you're in the scenery ».
Did you pursue a career in the automotive industry?
I was enrolled in law, but my father was very ill, so I had to stop my studies to take care of the family business.
