On a difficult track, the experience of the leader of the French championship counted this weekend, in Auvergne. From the first climb, the Isérois set a fast time (1:02.123) which left his opponents at bay. Only Fabien Frantz manages to come within a second of the scratch time. On the second climb, Nicolas Schatz manages to approach the time set by his biggest rival (1:02.143) but Lionel Régal improves his first time by almost seven tenths. For his part, Sébastien Petit remains behind (1:02.764).
But Lionel Régal does it again on the third climb and sets a great time, improving again by seven tenths (1:00.708). Sébastien Petit tries to compete but is condemned by two spins. Fabien Frantz is more than a second away and Nicolas Schatz is almost three seconds away. It is therefore a solid success for Lionel Régal, who consolidates his lead at the top of the championship and places himself as favorite for the title, with four rounds remaining.
