The entry list for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, revealed a few weeks ago, contained some inconsistencies, as not all the registered competitors were included in the initial version. Now, three more drivers have been added, and not just any drivers, as the defending champion, Simone Faggioli, is among them. The Italian, an eighteen-time Italian Hill Climb Champion, won the 2025 edition, which was shortened by a significant portion of its course, at the wheel of a Nova Proto specially designed for the event. The French car will receive further upgrades, notably a new twin-turbo V8 engine, developed in collaboration with Autotecnica Motori, as well as with EMAP, a French company whose renowned expertise contributes to the success of many hill climb drivers. Faggioli will not be making the trip alone, as Italian hill climb drivers Diego Degasperi and Franco Caruso will also be competing.
Europe will be well represented at Pikes Peak
In addition to announcing his participation, Simone Faggioli also revealed more details about the colors his car will sport: the Florentine will compete under the Italian banner of the ACI, the national federation, which has designated him as its team representative. Technically speaking, this participation is registered under the name Best Lap, Faggioli's racing team. Several well-known names will participate in this 2026 edition of Pikes Peak, which will take place this year on June 21st. This will be the 104th edition, during which five-time winner Romain Dumas will attempt to reclaim his crown as King of Colorado. The driver from Alès, in the Gard region, will compete, as last year, in the Ford Super Mustang Mach-E. Among the French contingent will be Valentin Simonet, among others, in a... Renault RS01 or Bruce Jouanny on a Ligier JS2R to name just a few.
