Alongside the French Asphalt Rally Championship, the French Hill Climb Championship will also kick off next week. The Bagnols-Sabran Hill Climb will be the first of twelve events organized this season, held between April and September. The favorites for this new season will be present, such as the reigning French Production Hill Climb Champion, Anthony Dubois. He will once again be competing this year with his Alpine The A110 Evo is inspired by the car used by Raphaël Astier at Pikes Peak in 2023, and was prepared in close collaboration with Signatech. While the car itself remains largely unchanged for this new season, now that it has proven itself and propelled its driver to the title, its livery has been updated, giving greater prominence to the tricolor colors that pay tribute to Anthony Dubois' 2025 championship victory.

At CFM Production, Anthony Dubois will have to work hard.

The hill climb season promises to be extremely competitive this year. In the closed-cockpit car category, Dubois will have to contend with Jean-François Ganevat (Renault RS01), Yannick Poinsignon (BMW M3 E92), and Olivier Berreur (Renault RS01), a newcomer to the category, are among the contenders. Last year, the trio of Dubois, Ganevat, and Poinsignon dominated the podiums and victories, delivering a truly high-flying spectacle in the Production class. The Sport category will also be one to watch, with the Pernot family, finally reunited in full force, Belgian driver Corentin Starck, and Maxime Dojat, all now competing in Nova Proto and Norma cars. Also noteworthy is the growth of the historic field, which is expected to see record participation in the 2026 French Hill Climb Championship. With the introduction of new eligible cars through the K period, new competitors have been drawn to this new format and have set their sights on this "competition within a competition."
