With the surprising and futuristic McMurtry Spéirling, the former pilot of Formula 1 beat the old record (held by Romain Dumas in the Volkswagen ID.R) by almost a second.

After his run historic, Chilton admitted that he was the first surprised to have broken the record. “I didn’t think it was going to happen! I only slept an hour last night because I was so stressed! The Duke of Richmond, organizer of the Goodwood Hillclimb on his estate, did not fail to congratulate the new record holder for the event. The 31-year-old pilot said he was proud of the work accomplished by the team on this crazy project. “I am very honored to set this time. The car has the British flag on the sides, because the whole project is British: the engineers, the manufacturer and me! The last time I was this happy was when I got married. »
