However, everything started well for Lionel Régal. During the tests, he managed to set the best time. But already, Sébastien Petit is showing his inclinations, by only conceding a few tenths to him. As for Nicolas Schatz, winner last week, he lost all hope from this session by amputating his car of a wheel, starting at a mistake.
Lionel Régal continues his recital from the first climb of the race, relegating Sébastien Petit to almost two seconds. But, on Sunday morning, the latter returned with a different appetite and achieved a superb second climb. Petit improves Régal's scratch time by more than six tenths. The championship leader tries to respond but can only note the perfect climb achieved by the Isérois. The third and final climb confirms the victory of Petit, who does not improve but is still ahead of Régal. In the end, the two men are ahead of Fabien Frantz, Stéphane Baudin and Billy Ritchen.
In the closed car category, Nicolas Werver (Porsche 996 GT Cup) dominated Francis Dosières (BMW 320 ST). However, the latter was quick on the first climb, ahead of his most serious rival by half a second. But, as in open cars, the dolphin rolled up its sleeves on Sunday morning. Nicolas Werver, author of a very good time, almost assured his victory by completing a convincing second climb, improving Dosières' time by more than a second. In the third climb, without managing to do better, Werver still confirmed his domination in this group.
