Le Rally Morocco 2025 comes to an end this Friday with a day divided into two parts. On the one hand, Stage 5 around Erfoud of 216 km. Then, a Power Selective Section (equivalent of Power Stage in WRC) of 31 km where points in the championship World Rally Raid (W2RC) will be awarded to the three fastest in each category (3, 2, 1). The times of the Power Selective Section will, of course, be taken into account in the final general classification.
At the end of Stage 5, Dacia holds the lead to win the Rally of Morocco. Sébastien Loeb and Édouard Boulanger significantly increased their lead at the head of the race, returning to the service station with a 4-minute margin over their direct pursuer, Lucas Moraes-Armand Monleon (Toyota). The French crew could win their first rally-raid as a pair; for Loeb, it would be his second rally-raid victory since the 2022 Rally of Andalusia. As for Édouard Boulanger, he would follow this up with a second world co-driver title after 2024.
In the fight for the Drivers' title, Nasser Al-Attiyah (Dacia) is gaining some breathing space. The Qatari, although slowed at the start of the special, launched a strong attack, allowing him to overtake Nani Roma-Alex Haro (Ford). Al-Attiyah, navigated by Fabian Lurquin, is now 3rd in the general classification before the Power Selective Section.
By climbing onto the provisional podium, Nasser Al-Attiyah would earn himself 17 points, compared to Lucas Moraes' 25. As things stand, without counting stage points or Power Selective Section points, the Dacia Sandriders driver would be crowned by 5 points over the Brazilian.
