Le Rally of Morocco 2025 will decide the title of World Rally-Raid Champion (W2RC). That was announced before the start of the race. What wasn't, however, was the small gap between the two competing drivers.

After four stages, and with one more stage to go, Nasser Al-Attiyah (Dacia, partnered by Fabian Lurquin) leads by two points over Lucas Moraes (Toyota, accompanied by Armand Monleon). The Brazilian started the race 10 points behind the Qatari, but thanks to better consistency, he is in 2nd place in the general classification. For his part, Nasser Al-Attiyah paid dearly for his broken triangle in the first stage. Rejected to 20th place, he redoubled his attack to climb to 4th position with one stage remaining.

There was no difference in stage points, with both men bagging 9 each. For Friday, there are still 5 points to be awarded for the winner of the special (then 4 for 2nd, 3rd, 2nd, 1st) as well as 3 additional points during the Power Selective Section (3 for the winner, then 2nd and 1st), a 33 km section offered during the afternoon. The competitors will have had time to return to the bivouac to rework their car's mechanics and adjust their strategies (they will have been informed of the gaps).

As a reminder, here are the points awarded to the first 15 drivers in the Rally of Morocco classification: 30, 25, 20, 17, 15, 13, 11, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. Then 2 points from the 16th position for all classified competitors, and 1 point for unclassified competitors.

The top four of the Rallye du Maroc are separated by just 7 minutes. Therefore, the hierarchy is likely to change between now and the final finish!
