Rallye du Maroc – Stage 1: Al-Attiyah offers a first success for Dacia

Rally Morocco 2024 – Provisional Ranking Stage 1 (will be updated):

• The Dacia Sandriders were quick to stand out. In the first stage of the Rally of Morocco, held this Monday around Zagora on a 178 km course, Nasser Al-Attiyah and Édouard Boulanger placed the Romanian 4x4 at the top of the timesheet!
• The leaders of the World Rally Raid Championship (W2RC) before this final event have set the best provisional time and should logically take the lead of the event once all the crews have reached the finish. Their teammates Sébastien Loeb and Fabian Lurquin, who left several hours later due to a disappointing Prologue (broken suspension triangle) are still in the special and are 2 minutes behind after 76 km of effort.
• The provisional podium shows that the winners of the 2022 Rally of Morocco, Yazeed Al-Rajhi and Timo Gottschalk (Toyota), are perfectly in the game (2nd). Also registered on a new car, the Ford Raptor, Carlos Sainz and Lucas Cruz made the American naturally aspirated V8 sing and set the third best time.
• At Mini, Guerlain Chicherit-Alex Winocq and Guillaume de Mévius-Mathieu Baumel achieved a group shot at the foot of the podium.
• Frenchman Matthieu Serradori, partnered by Loïc Minaudier (SRT), places his four-wheel drive Century CR7 between the Challengers of the Polish Goczal family.
