Sébastien Loeb: “It’s very tight, we’ll have to keep up the same pace”

Sébastien Loeb (Dacia) continues its high-quality performance on the Rally of Morocco 2025. The Frenchman negotiated the penultimate stage without trembling, finishing 2nd, 44 seconds behind the winner Nani Roma (Ford).

The nine-time world rally champion (WRC) has led the general classification since the 2nd stage and significantly increased his margin this Thursday, with a 3'38'' lead over Lucas Moraes-Armand Monleon (Toyota). 

“We’re having a great special, Sébastien Loeb told us at the Erfoud bivouac. We quickly passed (Seth) Quintero Toyota on the track, and we caught up (Henk) lategan (Toyota). We finished the special in his wake. The course wasn't easy today. There was a lot of navigation, long off-road sections where you had to drive on a straight line. It was easy to make mistakes, but we drove well, the car had no problems."

"We're still in the lead before the last day. It's close, we can see that Nani (Roma, Ford), wins the special with a 40-second lead. It's super tight, we'll have to keep up the same pace tomorrow."

On Friday, Sébastien Loeb and Édouard Boulanger will start the special from 2nd place. "We'll have to be focused on navigation and not make any mistakes. Nani (Rome) will leave just before us, and behind us, there will be Lucas (Moraes) and Nasser (Al-Attiyah)"

Regardless of the final result, the Alsatian is satisfied with his performance alongside his new co-driver, Édouard Boulanger. The two men are still getting to know each other after a promising first experience in Portugal at the end of September.

“It’s great to have been able to get along well with Édouard, confirms LoebWe learned to work together and progressed together in our collaboration in the car. It was important to do this before the Dakar. We must continue to refine the small details."
