Friday, October 17th will remain a key day for Sébastien Loeb and Édouard Boulanger (Dacia). The crew won for the first time a rally-raid since the beginning of their association in the summer of 2025, and it is the most selective race after the Dakar: the Rally of Morocco!

The Dacia Sandriders team duo had a faultless run, or almost. Winners of the first stage, they then showed better consistency (3rd in stage 3, 2nd in stage 4) to win by a handful of minutes ahead of Lucas Moraes and Armand Monleon (Toyota).

For Sébastien Loeb, this is his second victory in the discipline since the 2022 Rally of Andalusia, an event that did not involve difficult navigation. This victory at the Rally of Morocco is an excellent signal for the 2026 Dakar Rally, which the Alsatian will be looking to win for the first time in his career.

Thanks to this success, Édouard Boulanger pocketed a second title of co-driver rally-raid world champion (W2RC), after 2024. Since the creation of the 2022 competition, a French sailor has always been crowned (Mathieu Baumel in 2022 and 2023, Boulanger in 2024 and 2025).

Lucas Moraes narrowly champion

The other issue at stake in this 2025 Rallye du Maroc was the awarding of the W2RC Driver's title. Two contenders battled it out over the 5 stages, Nasser Al-Attiyah (Dacia) and Lucas Moraes (Toyota). At the end of the suspense, the Qatari won the day and became a four-time consecutive world champion! The Dacia Sandriders driver made a lightning comeback from 20th place on the evening of the 1st stage to climb onto the 3rd step of the race podium.

After a more consistent but less explosive rally, Lucas Moraes had to settle for the honorary position of runner-up. But everything changed at the finish. Nasser Al-Attiyah didn't stop at the special's checkpoint and received a hefty one-hour penalty! Dropped to 13th place in the general classification, he lost the championship lead by 9 points to Moraes, who thus became the 2025 World Rally-Raid Champion.

The Ford Team M-Sport, winner of stage 4 with Nani Roma, is in the top 5 with the Spaniard. However, he slowed down during the last special, going from 3rd to 5th place in a few kilometers! His teammates Mattias Ekström and Mitch Guthrie are also in the top 10, aboard the Ford Raptor T1+ Evo. Having left with several hours of penalty following an engine failure, Carlos Sainz saw the arrival at an anecdotal position.
