Never Sébastien Loeb and Édouard Boulanger (Dacia) have never been so close to winning their first rally-raid together. The French duo leads the Rally of Morocco at the end of the first part of this 5th stage, but before the 31 km Power Selective Section scheduled for this Friday afternoon.
The Alsatian has a 3'53'' lead over his direct pursuers, Lucas Moraes-Armand Monleon (Toyota). Which should allow him to take better care of his 4x4. "So far, things are going well," he tells us. "The goal of this stage was to not lose too much time to Lucas Moraes, who started 3 minutes 38 seconds behind us. There were still 250 km of special stage left, so we couldn't get into a false rhythm. We're off to an attack! We're having a great special so far. We've even increased our lead a little."
With a lead of almost 4 minutes and still 33 kilometers to go, we should be able to start relaxing a little. We have to finish the day without any problems; we have nothing else to look for now to hope to win.
Before the Power Selective Section, which is scheduled to start at 16:30 p.m. French time, Sébastien Loeb will be able to rest, eat, and take part in a briefing between the Dacia crews and Tiphanie Isnard, the Team Principal of the Dacia Sandriders. "And drink coffees", the great passion of the Alsatian!
