Portugal – Stage 4: Loeb on the podium in the general classification, the stage for Al-Attiyah

After the recital of Toyota (three different leaders in the first three stages), it's time for a show of strength at Dacia. Sébastien Loeb and Édouard Boulanger had opened their account on Friday by winning SS3, and they were imitated by his teammate Nasser Al-Attiyah on SS4. Now navigated by Fabian Lurquin, the Qatari clearly dominated the day between Badajoz and Lisbon, winning by two minutes ahead of Sébastien Loeb.

The Alsatian, assisted by Édouard Boulanger, took second place, allowing him to close in the overall standings. Fifth after his victory on Friday, Loeb has moved up to third. However, his chances of overall victory are virtually non-existent on the eve of the final lap, as he is more than ten minutes behind leader Lucas Moraes.

The Brazilian and his co-driver Armand Monleon lead the standings, but their lead over Henk Lategan and Brent Cummings, their Toyota teammates, has shrunk significantly. Before the final stage, the two Japanese manufacturer crews are separated by only 34 seconds. Lategan will be aiming for victory, but above all for maximum points possible against Nasser Al-Attiyah in their duel for the world championship. rally-raid.

On the positive side, Cristina Gutierrez and Pablo Moreno (Dacia) took 5th place in the stage and moved up to 5th overall, two places ahead of Nasser Al-Attiyah and Fabian Lurquin, who saved the day after their early rally troubles. On the other hand, the day was more complicated for Carlos Sainz and Lucas Cruz (Ford), stopped at kilometer 140 due to a mechanical problem that ruined their hopes of a final podium finish. No luck either for the young American driver Seth Quintero, fourth in SS3 and second at the last kilometer checkpoint before the finish of SS4. He also suffered a problem and was unable to challenge Dacia's one-two finish.

Mr. Sébastien Mr. Loeb, considering the defects encountered in the deserts, do not take the car assigned to you anymore, you will always break steering triangles.
