The FIA, which took over the promotion of World RX at the beginning of 2025, continues to rebuild the Rallycross global, after announcing several major changes in recent months. For example, the World Championship is out, returning to the role of European Championship, intended to allow more competitors to participate, this time with 100% combustion engine machines, unlike the mix between combustion and electric cars that was at the heart of the previous regulations.

The global dimension, so important to the FIA, has not been forgotten, and like the TCR, the best Rallycross drivers from around the world will come together for a World Cup at the end of the year. The Rallycross World Cup will therefore be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, on December 5th and 6th.

The event will take place on the old circuit of Formula E Jakarta, which will obviously be converted for the occasion with a dirt section, to create a true Rallycross circuit. The FIA also hopes that this World Cup will introduce the discipline to a new audience in South Asia.

"Across all our FIA championships, the World Cup events have proven their ability to offer accessible and self-contained competitions with strong global appeal."explains Mohammed Ben Sulayem, president of the FIA. “The new FIA World Cup for Rallycross will offer fans a unique opportunity to experience the sport on the global stage in 2026, bringing together the best drivers from all regions of the world. While Rallycross has its historical roots in Europe, this first competition in Indonesia paves the way for greater participation and strengthens the sport’s global footprint. This is a significant step forward for the continued growth of the sport. The future of Rallycross looks bright.”
