Saturday's World RX canceled after Friday's Lydden Hill fire

World RX takes a break. The paddock and in particular the structure of Special One Racing Team affected by a fire this Friday morning, the promoter of the world championship of Rallycross confirmed the cancellation of Saturday's program while the investigation to find the cause of the fire " continues ».

According to the first information shared in the official press release, the fire which ravaged a large part of the equipment of the French team including the two Lancia Delta Evo-Es, entered for Sébastien Loeb and Guerlain Chicherit, declared “ shortly before 8:45 a.m. and fire crews worked to bring it under control and put it out as quickly as possible. » Note that this is “only” material damage since no injuries were reported.

If World RX will not run this Saturday, the promoter indicated that the incident “ does not affect the RX2e or the English Rallycross Championship which will take place as planned. » Regarding Sunday's World RX, a decision will be made this Saturday.
