The main question of the whole weekend during the hill climb: with a capricious, cloudy and threatening sky, the choice of tires often proved to be essential. Between dry or wet roads, the right choice has not always been easy for drivers. But, in the end, it is always Lionel Régal who wins. In any case, this is the observation that emerges after this weekend in Cotentin.
As during the Pommeraye race, Nicolas Schatz believed he could dethrone his elder brother. If, the previous week, Schatz had dominated the first two climbs, his lead lasted less this time. Author of the best time during his first pass, Schatz saw Régal take the reference time from him on the second climb. Wanting at all costs to recover during the third pass, the Mâconnais sent his Lola into the rail, destroying his hopes. Lionel Régal wins once again, improving the track record during his last pass. We therefore find the same podium as at Pommeraye, since Sébastien Petit finishes in third position.
