The entry list for the second round of the 2026 French Rally Championship has just been released, with nearly 100 crews registered. A great result considering the absence of manufacturer-specific series at the event.

The second round of the French Asphalt Rally Championship is scheduled for next week with the Rally Rhône-Charbonnières, a true institution on the French rally scene. A minor event this year, the competition is not hosting any Manufacturer Cups, and its entry list has therefore logically been reduced by a few entries, although as of Friday morning it boasted a list of 96 crews registered for its Modern category. Among the competitors present, the usual contenders in the French Rally Championship are obviously in attendance, including Yoann Bonato – Benjamin Boulloud (Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale), the Hyundai Hugo Margaillan's i20N Rally2 – Mathieu Coppa and Réhane Gany – Franck Le Floch or even the Porsche Raphaël Astier and Denis Giraudet's 992 GT+ finished on the podium in the first round of the season. Also present were Kenneth Madsen, former Danish Rally Champion, driving a Citroën C3 Rally2, and Jonathan Hirschi, also in a C3 Rally2.

Rhône-Charbonnières Rally: A great turnout at every level

Despite the absence of promotional series at the event, the support categories should be hotly contested at the Rhône-Charbonnières Rally, notably with a high-quality Michelin Amateur Trophy. Alexandre Villiod, Yoan Corberand, Julien Deslauriers, and Ludovic Jeudy will all be competing, as will the three female winners of the Rallye Jeunes program, who will be starting their season at this rally. The round counting towards the French 2-Wheel Drive Rally Championship will also be interesting, with Côme Ledogar, Ludovic Godard (last year's winner there), Ghislain Barbier, and Grégory Fontalba, who will be making his CFR debut. Alpine A110 in GT+ version. Also of note is that the VHC event, running alongside it, will notably welcome Julien Saunier, while the VHRS event will see Bruno Saby in action.
