The world's most famous resident of Le Touquet is back behind the wheel. Just a few weeks after returning to the sands of the Enduropale du Touquet, Adrien Van Beveren will be competing in the first round of the French Asphalt Rally Championship at the end of the month, once again in the top category, as he has done several times in recent years. This time, he'll be driving a... Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 that "VBA42" will participate in Rally Le Touquet – Pas-de-Calais, for which the entry list is expected to be released at the end of next week. In addition to the already announced frontrunners from the CFR (French Cycling Federation), Van Beveren should be joined by another rider from northern France, Stéphane Lefebvre, who will be riding the same bike. This will be Lefebvre's fifth participation as an officially entered competitor.
Adrien Van Beveren repeats the experience
Last year, back behind the wheel of a Citroën C3 Rally2, Adrien Van Beveren finished the Rallye Le Touquet – Pas-de-Calais in sixteenth position, closing the gap to the leading drivers stage after stage. It's worth highlighting the achievement of this motorcyclist, as his kilometers in such a car are rare and his last rally experience was the 2024 Rallye de la Lys, this time in a Volkswagen Polo R5 GTi, which he won alongside Gwenola Marie. His best result at the Rallye Le Touquet – Pas-de-Calais remains his 12th place finish in 2019, even though, at that time, the competition was still lacking certain two-wheel-drive vehicles, including... Alpine A110 GT+. The arrival of Adrien Van Beveren at the Rallye Le Touquet – Pas-de-Calais will, as usual, be an event, since the recent 6th place finisher in the Dakar Motos is a true ambassador for his native region.
