As the closing of commitments of Rally The Castine Terre d'Occitanie (March 07-08) rally was held last night, and other exciting surprises continue to emerge regarding the 2026 French Gravel Rally Championship grid. Among the good news, confirmed today is the presence of Steven Bossard in a Citroën C3 Rally2 entered by the Sarrazin World Rally Team and co-driven by Jacques-Julien Renucci, who was already seen alongside him in 2025. The former French Supercar Champion... Rallycross (2024), returned to rallying last year via the CFRT in Renault The Clio Rally3 is therefore taking another step forward and will be present for the entire 2026 season to continue its learning curve on the rally calendar. Increasingly competitive last year, Steven Bossard secured his first victory at the Terre de Vaucluse rally in the GT2i CFRT FFSA Trophy, which specifically rewards Rally3 class cars.
The atypical career path of Steven Bossard
With this announcement, we have yet another outsider among the contenders for top-five finishes, podiums, and even victories. Because if there's one driver who knows how to adapt quickly, it's him: having started in Rallycross at the height of the previous decade, Bossard established himself as one of the leading drivers in the discipline in France, notably in Division 1A where, in 2010, he won the national title in a Citroën C2 Super 1600. Subsequently, after some impressive performances in the World Rallycross Championship, he put his career on hold to dedicate himself to developing the BOS Suspensions team, founded by his father, Olivier. He made his return to competition in 2024, still in Rallycross but this time in Supercar, and surprisingly clinched the title at the end of the season. Not wanting to stop while he was going so well, he finally turned to rallying to continue the adventure.

Steven Bossard and rallying: a logical union
Alongside his Rallycross years, Steven Bossard had tried his hand at rallying, notably through the French Junior Rally Championship, contested at that time in Renault Twingo R1s. The Toulouse native achieved some impressive results and also traveled to Finland several times in 2012, 2018, and 2019 to participate in some typical Scandinavian winter rallies. Seeing him try his hand at the French Gravel Rally Championship last year, after these experiences and his stints in Rallycross, was therefore not illogical, and the 35-year-old driver clearly took to it. Along with Benjamin Clemençon, he will be competing under the Sarrazin World Rally Team banner with Citroën cars, which will undoubtedly be beneficial for both of them.
